Gold Rush in Russia [The Nineties]

Forced to play a poisonous adopted daughter in a period novel, He Changyi earns herself the title of “ungrateful little hooligan.” At the end, the puppet on a string jumps into a river and drowns herself. Luckily, the whole story ends before she actually drowns. She may be alive, but her money is dead (...) To save her wallet, He Changyi decides to become an idol. Scratch that: a black-market trader. The red giant in the north falls apart, the ruble turns into worthless paper, and order gives way to a vacuum. Stories of people getting rich overnight and dying just as quickly are everywhere. When He Changyi boards a train with a seventy-jin pack slung over her shoulder, she will have to face pickpockets, con artists, bandits, robbers, corrupt cops, and a country in the midst of collapse. Luckily, she's good at making money amid the chaos. From a peddler hauling goods on her back to opening shops, founding a bank, and setting up funds, her fortune grows like a snowball rolling down a mountain. Once money becomes nothing but boring numbers, He Changyi starts to wonder: Should I make a tiny contribution to the country's development? Later, border customs officials let out a shrill cry when they see the most advanced fighter jet engine: “This is the scrap metal you wanted to import?!” Much later, someone interviews the legendary female trader and asks what she does in her spare time. He Changyi smiles gracefully. “When I'm bored, I find a man and toy with his feelings.” Interviewer: ? The men whose feelings she's toyed with: ! Reader's guide: 1.
