[Please check out my new novel: Phoenix Returns Without End]
New novel blurb: A tree spirit who's dim-witted at first, then develops a wonderfully peculiar way of thinking × a phoenix who's confident and rambunctious at first, then not especially bright. Please add it to your favorites! ⭐️
Blurb for this novel:
Xius's perspective: Xius picked up Mingzhu. From the bedtime stories Mingzhu told him, he realized what fate had in store for him. In the prime of his youth, Xius sought to break the chains of destiny. He found the newly born protagonist among countless living beings and killed him.
Thousands of years later, Xius had grown tired of the unchanging scenery. The world had become a cage that restricted his freedom. Only then did he realize that the protagonist hadn't killed him. He had chosen to bring the protagonist before him and offer up the blade that would grant him freedom.
But because he had glimpsed fate too early, the one who held the blade was long gone.
Xius was born to nobility, and in the end, died for freedom.
The brilliant explosion of his soul cut off the possibility that his only pet would lose its freedom. From then on, the world was vast, and it could fly wherever it wished.
Mingzhu's perspective: After Xius brought it home, he spoiled it for thousands of years with delicious food and every comfort. But one day, its master became obsessed with dying for the sake of so-called freedom. When he couldn't die, he fell into a deep depression. In the end, he inexplicably fought the Main God. They destroyed each other's souls, and both vanished. The Main God, who had the upper hand, even imprisoned Xius's body in a small world to use as nourishment.
Unable to bear seeing Xius, who loved freedom so much, imprisoned in his own body, it entered the small world to save him. But the world's laws prevented it, as it was not one of that world's creatures. It couldn't become a hero, defeat Xius, free his body, and let him return to eternal sleep.
It was then that it discovered a strange soul in that world. After the soul pleaded desperately with it, they made a pact: it would bring him back to life and help him reach the pinnacle of success, and he would help it defeat the Demon King.
Rong Qi's perspective: He was an orphan who had died in the modern world. Fortunately, he encountered a System. Desperate to come back to life and return home, he gave everything he had to complete his missions. But when he reached the final mission...
Everything began to change. Strange things started happening to him, and the System became elusive, as if it were hiding something from him.
Rong Qi later guessed that Mingzhu's previous Host had been a native of this world. The Demon King, an intruder, had ruined its former Host's happy life, so Mingzhu had abused its authority and deliberately assigned him his final mission in this world, just so he could defeat the Demon King and set everything right.
When the final battle came and all his memories returned, Rong Qi could only watch helplessly as the System and the Demon King vanished in each other's arms, and rage: "To hell with being the protagonist, you bastard!!!"
The wheel of fate turned. After all the twists and turns, you grew under my guidance, took the sword I held out to you, and granted me the freedom I wanted.
From then on, you were the protagonist!
Please note:
1. The blurb contains the core of the entire story, which unfolds from Rong Qi's perspective.
2. The Demon King, Xius, only appears at the end. This story begins with its ending, so Xius is the protagonist.
3. The power levels may be a little inconsistent.
4. This is not a power fantasy, but an everyday-life story.
5. It has the trappings of Western fantasy, but includes cultivation along the way. It is not a conventional Western fantasy story.
Theme: Crown freedom!
Throw flowers and congratulations on the completion.
