Transmigrator Shina starts off with amnesia, and is literally split in two. Every day, the senses of her other self drive her crazy.
The good news: This is a Detective Conan-style world, where as long as you're reckless enough, you can survive.
The bad news: Her other half, Tokino, who woke up a year before her, seems to have become a dangerous person of special interest to the distillery.
Worse still, the homecoming assistance System she cobbled together before losing her memories seems to have a few screws loose.
Homecoming System: [Host, go for it! To get home, you must make everyone come up with the most spectacular fantasies about your relationship!]
Shina (confused): What kind of relationship could I have with myself? We're definitely the closest people in the world!
Tokino (smiling): Sure. It'll be spectacular, I promise.

As it turned out, the public's imagination could punch a hole straight through the earth.
A third-rate painter passing by tossed sheets of paper around carelessly. The tips of his black hair were soaked in blood, his dark eyes reflected soulless corpses, and his gloomy expression carried a scornful contempt for everything.
No one believed that painter could ever feel genuine affection for anything.
He disregarded life and foretold death. What could possibly move him?
Until a young woman with golden eyes appeared.
The florist was friendly and dependable, always smiling as she basked in the sun and watered the flowers in her shop, occasionally putting together a bouquet for a customer. She lived a lazy, easygoing life.
Only now and then would she say she was looking for something.
Later, they met.
An instinctive desire to merge with each other, the certainty that each was the other's one and only, and the knowledge that the two halves had to be pieced back together: all of it sent both the good guys and the bad guys into a frenzy of wild speculation.
In the eyes of the good guys: Every step this human took toward becoming a monster was unwavering. Was it because of an old bond, or simply because she couldn't bear to watch a life rot away in loneliness? When she finally reached a distance where she could touch him, would the monster at the end of the story bow his head to the warmth of humanity?
What the bad guys saw: The monster who looked down on everything had been drawn to a human. The false affection cultivated with her in the distant past still held sway, and a heart that knew no love had given rise to the wicked desire to devour her, the only thing that could satisfy him. At the end, would the human who smiled at him shed tears for the monster?
And what they were watching was, in essence, one and the same thing:
A monster was slowly growing a human heart, bit by bit, for the sake of one person. Even if that heart was evil, greedy, and made of hatred twisted out of love in solitude.
And that person held him in return, as if embracing her own bones torn from her body and the blood flowing back into her veins.
In short, this ship is real!
Shina: "?"
Shipping them so hard you turn it into a tale of star-crossed hatred and passion: is this what you call spectacular speculation?
Tokino: "."
My Shina, my other half, my eternity, my home, mine, mine, mine, mine...
Homecoming System (overjoyed): [Something seems a little off, but since you're already a little off, all I can say is: Yay! A great success!]
◤Please Note◢
# BG selfcest ship: Shina x Tokino
# The supernatural and ghost elements in the original blurb have been removed, but the core premise, "a selfcest ship mistaken for a tragic love-hate romance," remains unchanged.
# After much thought, I still want to write a lighthearted story about a sweet couple, their causing trouble for others, and everyone wildly misinterpreting them ○| ̄|_
# The timeline is chaotic, and there are tons of personal headcanons.
