Marrying My Fiancé's Archrival

Cen Wei was injured and fell into a coma. When she woke, she had forgotten many things. The only thing she remembered was that she had come to the city to find her fiance.

Just as she was feeling lost and helpless, Lin Heshan, the current dynasty's Deputy Minister of the Court of Judicial Review and an imperial commissioner, came to see her. Gently and solemnly, he said, "The fiance you seek is none other than me, Lin."

Cen Wei was suspicious. She was only the daughter of a scholar. How could she be engaged to an imperial commissioner?

But Lin Heshan produced a token, and it was the exact match for the matching-heart pendant at her waist.

Nervous but happy, Cen Wei married him. After their wedding, he indulged her in everything and granted her every request.

But because she was in poor health, he restrained himself and never consummated their marriage.

Her husband's gentle attentiveness gradually eased the unease in Cen Wei's heart. She stopped dwelling on her lost memories, believing she could spend the rest of her life with him in peaceful happiness.

Who could have guessed that after the case was settled, he would take her back to the capital, where she would accidentally hit her head along the way and remember everything when she awoke?

He had been deceiving her from the very beginning. Not only was he not her fiance, he was also her fiance's sworn enemy.

Cen Wei tried to run, but he cornered her at the mouth of an alley.

He picked her up. "It seems my wife's health has recovered. Why don't we perform the rites of Zhou Gong tonight?"

The candles in their bedroom burned late into the night, and Cen Wei spent just as long crying and cursing him.

In the end, he let her go. Kneeling by the bed, he calmly slipped her shoes and socks back on with his long, pale fingers. "I wouldn't dare refuse my wife's request. You want to see him? Once we're back in the capital, we should arrive just in time for his funeral."
