I don't think this is working, so I'm putting it aside for now. I'll rewrite it when I have some ideas.

Lin Tingyu has a one true love.

They quit the game three years ago, but Lin Tingyu tells everyone, "They're my CP," with such heartfelt conviction that the entire server believes him.

Lin Tingyu also has a sworn enemy.

When he was at his lowest, that person humiliated him in the game by flinging a hundred thousand gold coins in his face, calling it charity.

The game developers announce that the Great Dungeon Race is about to begin.

Lin Tingyu receives a private message from his sworn enemy: [Hey there, friend. I can tell from your bones and your face that you're destined to be a champion. How about joining our team for the race? Join us and get a CP, a photo of the team leader in a dress, and a stainless-steel washbasin.]

Lin Tingyu: Why would I?

Qin Daoyuan thinks for a moment. "Actually, I'm your one true love."

Lin Tingyu sneers. "Actually, I'm your biological father."

Later, Qin Daoyuan gives him both his game account and his wedding ring.

Lin Tingyu logs into the game and finds two characters standing on the character selection screen.

One is the sworn enemy he's hated for two years.

The other is the one true love who's been gone for three.

Lin Tingyu: "...Are you serious?"

Qin Daoyuan smiles, kisses him, and picks up the ring.

"Can we go to the wedding now?"
