The male insect cub accepts the mission but secretly goes against the System. Not only does he refrain from physically punishing Edwin, he also acts like a clingy little cub every day, raising Edwin to be more and more like a nurturing mother.

"Your methods are still too crude," he tells the System.

"Humans have hundreds of ways to torment each other without drawing blood. Have you heard of psychological manipulation? A female insect who's been psychologically manipulated will suffer terribly from just one look from me. This will spur Edwin on, and I won't have to pit my weak little body against a military female insect. Just watch."

The System is inexperienced and doesn't understand how humans say one thing and do another. It also fails to realize that the male insect cub's gaze at Edwin has grown far too tender.

It obediently encourages him: "You can do it, Host!"

"Mm-hmm." The male insect cub gives the System a perfunctory reply, his eyes fixed on the narrow waist outlined by Edwin's apron.

Later, the disabled male insect cub miraculously completes his second development and becomes a once-in-a-century SSS-level male insect in the Empire. The tall, handsome male insect has a dimple on his face as he pulls the evading female insect into his arms. While expertly acting pitiful toward him, he doesn't forget to hoodwink the System:

"Do you know what really triggers a female insect's awakening? It's tasting love and then losing it! A female insect who's experienced respect and love can never again endure darkness and narrow-mindedness! Letting Edwin taste love is part of my plan. When he wants me but can't have me, he'll awaken."

"Is that so?" The System, long since well acquainted with human deception, replies coolly:

"Then please get off your father's bed first."

"..." The male insect awkwardly rubs his nose as Edwin gently but firmly pushes him away. He hurriedly drops his predatory expression and acts obedient, just like before.

"Edwin, my newly developed mental form is a little strange. Could you take a look?"

But the male insect doesn't notice that, countless times, Edwin's lowered eyes have glistened with tears as he struggles to resist the urge to get close to him.

The jokes he casually makes to fool the System are an unavoidable curse for Edwin. He was taught to be an insect with dignity, yet he will never be allowed to possess the male insect who taught him everything.

Because he's the cub who calls him "Father"!
