Lin Suyin and Qin Guanyun first met at a bar before heading into the desert.
Qin Guanyun ordered him a drink called Sunset Passion.
Lin Suyin raised an eyebrow at the peach-colored drink.
After one night together, they silently became travel companions, rented a car to cross the uninhabited desert, and spent two months together, as close as a couple.
On the day they parted, Qin Guanyun sat in the car and asked, "Will we see each other again?"
Lin Suyin smiled. "If fate brings us together."
Only then did Qin Guanyun realize that to Lin Suyin, he was no more than a fleeting affair.

Lin Suyin wore a hoodie and jeans. Qin Guanyun wore a suit under his lab coat.
They stood in the hallway, silent for a while.
Lin Suyin reached out to straighten the pen on his chest and looked up at him. "Are you free tonight?"

Lin Suyin sat in the passenger seat and lit a cigarette. "Your colleague said you never used to join group activities, let alone pick the restaurant. So you were unusually enthusiastic the day we met again because you knew I was having a celebration dinner at that restaurant? And you were still acting so proper."
Qin Guanyun took the cigarette from him, took a drag, and answered with a question. "Otherwise, you'd have your fun and dump me again?"
