In My Second Life, I'm the Public Security Squad's Beloved One

Hayama Hotaru has always thought that her life has been pretty smooth so far.

She grew up in an orphanage, but never lacked food or clothing, and managed to finish school;

She doesn't have many friends, but one or two are enough;

Her boyfriend is gentle and considerate, and their relationship has been smooth sailing.

"Being with Toru-kun might make me the luckiest person in the world," she told her boyfriend earnestly one day.

The golden-haired, dark-skinned young man looked at her intently. A complex emotion, difficult to make out, flashed through his purplish-gray eyes.

"No. I'm the lucky one."

A moment later, he smiled and said it.

Throughout his thirty years of life, no matter what role he'd played, Public Security officer Furuya had always believed he could answer for his actions.

Until his life started over, and he chose without hesitation to date Hayama Hotaru, even though...

In his first life, she had been his childhood friend's fiancée.

He had plenty of reasons to convince himself.

For example, they hadn't met yet in this timeline;

For example, even in his first life, Hiromitsu had only approached her for a mission;

For example, he was the one who ought to correct this mistake with his own hands...

But one ordinary day, after seeing the way his childhood friend looked at a silver-haired girl, he suddenly realized something.

The fiancée Hayama Hotaru had loved so deeply in her first life, the one who had died in the line of duty, and the childhood friend he knew so well...

Hiromitsu had also come back.

But by then, he couldn't let go anymore.

There'll probably be melodrama, there'll definitely be emotional pain, and there should be a love triangle.

Theme: Cherish the present.
