I've always thought this world was pretty amazing.
Especially after coming to Namimori. How could one word like “amazing” possibly sum it all up?

A little baby with weird sideburns is actually the top hitman of the underworld?
A kid dressed as a cow has hair that might have been enchanted with spatial magic?
All kinds of bizarre incidents keep happening around me, nothing like what I consider “everyday life.” It makes me miss my old days in Ikebukuro.
Back then, my life was much more peaceful than it is now, and I had a friend who shared my interests. I really miss those days when we talked about life's many facets, then moved on to poetry and literature.
It's just that his claim to love all of humanity makes his preferences hard to stomach.
“Losing focus in the middle of a fight. Are you trying to provoke me?”
I leaned back to dodge the attack, and found myself even less able to understand Izaya's tastes.
Humanity can certainly provide me with plenty of entertainment, but getting mixed up with a troublesome guy like Hibari is a real pain.
...And now he's blocking the classroom door to confront me. What a pain. Are people not allowed to sleep? Did the disciplinary committee never hear those rumors going around school? Ever heard of keeping your distance to avoid suspicion?
It's not like I actually managed to blow up the school. Is he really going to keep hounding me over that?

I was a little surprised. “How did you know I was involved with him?”
“...In what way?”
“Hmm, if I had to describe it, he was kind of my lover?”
