Good news: Sirius Black is back from the dead!
Bad news: He's been resurrected as Procyon White, a fifth-year student who appeared out of nowhere.
Even worse news: The damn kid is a Slytherin!
At least seeing his old friend again brings him some comfort. But having to call Remus "Professor Lupin," for Merlin's sake, is making Sirius miserable.
The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher visibly pauses when he sees Sirius's name.
"Procyon White... What an interesting name."
With a dog's keen instincts, Sirius swears that Remus has definitely thought of him: the "murderer" who just escaped from Azkaban.

"Mr. White, I believe I've told you many times that you can't live in Professor Lupin's quarters. It's against the rules."
"Dear Headmaster, would you really deny the request of a poor student who has lost his memory and can remember only Lupin... I mean, Professor Lupin?"
Sirius decides to bypass the headmaster and gaze pitifully at Lupin beside him.
Remus is such a kind man. He's never been able to say no to me, even if I'm not really myself right now. Sirius, or rather White, is quite confident.
"If you insist," Lupin sighs. "Once your memory loss is cured, you'll have to move out."

"We're about to do something unsuitable for children, so get out of Remus's room, brat," Sirius says to White, still wearing his prison uniform.
White feels like his head is a bubble tea pot about to start steaming with rage.
"You despicable, shameless Black!" he yells, utterly lacking in manners. "If it weren't for me, you'd never have found out that Remus has liked you for so long! You're a bastard who gets to reap the rewards without doing a thing!"
"Say whatever you want. Remus will pick me, no matter what."
Sirius looks at Remus Lupin with shining eyes. "Since I already missed my chance with you when I was seventeen, this kid doesn't get to be that lucky, too."
"Remus, you never turn Sirius down, do you?"
"I'm Sirius too!" White howls from the side.
"So I can finally speak?" Lupin still has a gentle smile on his face. "Actually, I was going to ask: couldn't I choose neither of you?"
Sirius always thought he was the one in control of their relationship. But everything changes when Remus Lupin's love is discovered. He no longer needs to hide his own feelings, and he never expects Sirius to love him back, so Lupin has the upper hand by far.
He is unstoppable.
Note:
1. Procyon is the brightest star in Canis Minor. Its name means "before the dog," and its rising signals that Sirius is about to appear (source: Baidu Encyclopedia).
2. This isn't exactly a fluffy romance. There will be angst and emotional push and pull.
3. A happy ending for everyone.
4. There will be mentions of side pairings, mainly Drarry and Grindelwald/Dumbledore.
Theme: Love is the greatest magic.
