The Emperor and the Couch Potato Are Mortal Enemies

The Sixth Prince was born into the imperial family. Bright and handsome, he was nevertheless treated coldly because his maternal family had fallen from favor. He swore he would never accept his fate. As a child, he fought consorts and cruel servants; as he grew up, he fought his brothers. At last, he held on until the late emperor's death and inherited the throne.

But before he could enjoy it for even two days, his body was suddenly taken over by a wandering ghost.

The ghost came charging in, rambling about things like “giving up” and “lying flat.”

When he woke again, three years had passed. The wandering ghost had neither seized power nor played political games. As the Son of Heaven, all he did every day was eat, drink, sleep, and enjoy himself, while power slipped from his hands.

The chancellor who had helped him ascend the throne was utterly disappointed in him.

His longtime attendant, who had been inseparable from him, was banished from the palace and sent to guard the imperial tombs.

His childhood friend and study companion looked at him with disgust and treated him with cold distance.

The only person who had ever been his enemy, that rotten scoundrel, was the one the wandering ghost had decided was the “protagonist.” The ghost claimed that one day he would usurp the throne and kill the new emperor. Muttering things like “redemption” and “beautiful, strong, and tragic,” the ghost buttered him up and promoted him all the way up the ranks, practically ready to hand him the throne.

His Majesty: “...”

My power! My money! My empire!

I will never make peace with a couch potato!
