When the apocalypse struck, Shi Zhen, once adored by his whole family, was abandoned alone in a fallen city full of danger.
With the outside world too dangerous, Shi Zhen could only stay home by himself, surviving on the supplies he had left and talking to his rigid smart housekeeper.
He thought he would spend the rest of his life in endless loneliness, until his supplies ran out and he died. But one day, he woke to find the locked front door had been forced open.
*
The man in combat gear was tall and powerfully built. He stood by the kitchen island with a weapon in one hand, enjoying the breakfast milk the System had warmed for the young master.
He glanced at Shi Zhen, who was still half-asleep in his cream-colored pajamas, and gave him a scornful look.
"So many people are dying outside, yet you’ve got plenty to eat and warm clothes to wear."
The man’s tone was hostile. Shi Zhen grabbed the hem of his pajamas, embarrassed and at a loss.
*
The man was an officer at an Alliance base, sent out on a mission. An accident on the way forced him to stop and recover at Shi Zhen’s place for a while.
After spending time together, Shi Zhen realized the man wasn’t as awful as he’d imagined.
The man could repair elevators, cook delicious home-style meals, and let Shi Zhen curl up in his arms for warmth when the house ran low on power. He was just a little bad-tempered.
Later, Shi Zhen learned that the man had a rare illness. Every time it flared up, he would glare at Shi Zhen with those dangerous, bloodshot eyes, as if he wanted to swallow him whole.
And eventually, the man did just that.
*
Just as Shi Zhen was imagining that he could grow closer to the man and go with him to a safe zone, the man died protecting him on a supply run.
After burying him, Shi Zhen picked up the important supply case the man had left behind, his eyes red, and made a bold decision.
Early the next morning, he left home with the supplies and headed for the safe zone, only to stumble into a convoy of rioters.
Warning bells rang behind him. A ruthless rebel army was on their heels.
Shi Zhen was abandoned once again. As he fell awkwardly from the combat vehicle, someone grabbed his wrist and hauled him to his feet.
He looked up and saw a familiar face.
His eyes suddenly filled with tears. He thought the man had come back from the dead, but when he instinctively tried to bury himself in the man’s arms, he saw that the man’s gaze was cold and confused.

After the apocalypse, the wanted lists of the interstellar world were constantly changing. Then, all at once, someone noticed that the Alliance general, the rebel army commander, the power-user vanguard, and other big shots had all issued wanted notices for the same person.
The requirement: Bring him back unharmed and in one piece.
Most importantly, how could all these big shots possibly be hunting the same person???
