The Fake Young Master of a Wealthy Family's Guide to Acting Sweet

Everyone knew the young master of the Shu family was pampered and arrogant. He had nothing but a peerless face and was a good-for-nothing, unequal to any important task. With the Shu family backing him, he never restrained his nasty temper in public.

Shu Luo thought he could live this way, swaggering through life forever. But one day, the Shu family's real young master, who had been living outside the family, was found and brought home.

It hit him like a bolt from the blue: I was the fake all along!

As his adoptive father kicked him out, images flashed through Shu Luo's mind. In the future, he would hide from the enemies he'd made, starve to death beneath a bridge, and have his corpse gnawed by insects and rats. His end would be utterly miserable.

To survive, and to keep enjoying a life of luxury, Shu Luo gritted his teeth and decided to seduce the country bumpkin who was the real young master, so the other man would willingly keep him in the Shu family.

He stumbled back to the Shu residence and fell into Lu Cong'an's arms. His eyes were red, his lips trembled, and tears fell as he clung to Lu Cong'an and refused to let go.

Just as he had expected, Lu Cong'an, who had never seen much of the world, took the bait easily and asked his father to let Shu Luo stay.

On the surface, Shu Luo acted sweet and pitiful, gazing at Lu Cong'an with eyes full of love. But the moment he turned away, he mocked Lu Cong'an to his friends, saying he really was an idiot, so easily deceived by such a simple trick.

After that, he became Lu Cong'an's attendant and sidekick in name only. He merely made a show of being nice to Lu Cong'an in public, while privately continuing to enjoy life as a young master.

And Lu Cong'an, the hapless sucker, obeyed his every whim and spoiled him rotten.

But that life couldn't last. Once Lu Cong'an had eliminated all the threats around him, Shu Luo planned to save up money and run away, leaving to enjoy himself on his own.

But just as he'd saved enough and was preparing to flee, Lu Cong'an, who had found out about his plan, seemed to become a different person.

He locked the spoiled young master to the bed and tormented him until he could barely move.

The next day, Shu Luo woke aching all over, his eyes swollen and red from crying. Kneeling on the bed, he stared at Lu Cong'an in disbelief.

But Lu Cong'an no longer had the gentle demeanor he'd shown when they first met. His gaze was dark as he rubbed a thumb hard across Shu Luo's swollen lips. "You can be difficult, but you can't run."

Shu Luo was horrified.

So Lu Cong'an had known everything all along!

So the man he'd provoked wasn't a mild-mannered, clumsy big cat, but a fierce predator hidden beneath soft fur.

* The shou is foolish and difficult. He does change later, but not by much.
