Cool, aloof minister vs. beautiful young lady
Babies, please add this to your reading lists! Spinning around in gratitude~
The ladies and young misses of the capital all knew that Yan Ting was timid and foolish, weak and easy to bully. At every banquet, they made fun of her for their own amusement.
The powerful minister Xie Jun fell in love with Yan Ting at first sight and asked His Majesty to grant them a marriage. The first time Xie Jun accompanied Yan Ting to a banquet, a young woman ordered Yan Ting to brew tea. Xie Jun took Yan Ting's anxious hand. "Sit down. I'll do it."
The woman who had ordered Yan Ting around was terrified. How could she possibly let Minister Xie make tea for her?
When Xie Jun returned with the tea, the woman nearly fainted. Xie Jun whispered in Yan Ting's ear, and her face instantly flushed bright red. She took his fingers and shook her head. "We can't." Showing off their affection in front of so many people was too embarrassing. Xie Jun pecked her earlobe, stopping her from blushing any further, then brought the teacup to her lips and fed her.
The woman who had ordered Yan Ting around lowered her head, trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible. She could only pray that her father and brother wouldn't get dragged into trouble because of her.
Later, Yan Ting grew used to Xie Jun's special affection. On rainy days, to keep her shoes, socks, and skirt from getting wet, she would hold out her arms and let Xie Jun carry her.
His colleagues all said Xie Jun spoiled his wife without restraint and had no authority in his own household. Xie Jun suddenly stood up. His colleagues thought he was angry, and all looked tense, but Xie Jun simply said, "Gentlemen, I must be heading home."
After Xie Jun left, his colleagues whispered among themselves:
"Come to think of it, ever since Minister Xie got married, he's never come home later than the Xu hour. There's no curfew, so why is he in such a hurry?"
"There's no curfew, but maybe his wife set a curfew for him."
At that moment, Yan Ting had shut Xie Jun out. He coaxed her, "My lady, I promise I won't get carried away tonight."
Yan Ting shook her head firmly. "No." They'd already thrown out several sets of bedsheets these past few days. If this kept up, she'd never be able to face anyone again.
When the servants brought water in the middle of the night, Xie Jun was beaming. Yan Ting was exhausted and furious, with barely enough strength to kick him. She could only snap, "You're not allowed in my room tomorrow!"

[Bright, confident, straightforward female lead x stern, insecure, clingy male lead]
Mo Xingshuang was born into a noble family and had enjoyed an easy life since childhood. Recently, though, something strange had happened to her. Her once-vibrant body had grown frail and sickly, and she hadn't improved despite a long period of recuperation. Then came a banquet.
When Mo Xingshuang fainted from her illness, the crown prince beside her reached out to support her. With just that touch, all the pain in her body disappeared.
Overcome with excitement, Mo Xingshuang pretended to faint in the crown prince's arms. Only when her maid came to help her did she shriek inwardly, "Don't come over! I've been in pain for so many days, and this is the first time I've felt better!"
Mo Xingshuang began having frequent chance encounters with the crown prince.
The crown prince stepped away, his voice icy. "I have a bad temper. If you keep pursuing me, Miss Mo, I'll have to tell your father." Mo Xingshuang looked completely sincere. "I'm not trying to pursue you. I can't live without Your Highness the Crown Prince!" So what if he had a bad temper? She still had to drink her medicine, no matter how bitter it was.
When Mo Xingshuang watched a play, she spent a fortune on the actors. She was seen everywhere with a newly appointed scholar, and even had an annoying cousin always hovering around her! Jealous, the crown prince thought, Didn't you say you couldn't live without me? Why are you getting so close to other men? He took Mo Xingshuang's hand. She looked at him blankly. "Your Highness, is something the matter?"
The crown prince's voice brimmed with jealousy. "Miss Mo, are you using me and then casting me aside?"
Mo Xingshuang: "..."
Later, Mo Xingshuang's illness stopped flaring up all the time, and she began having fun all over the capital. One night, when she returned home late, she found the crown prince looking like a resentful wife. He sighed. "You only hear the new bride laughing, never the old one weeping." On the bed, Mo Xingshuang's eyes were red and tears clung to her lashes. Her fingers were entwined with the crown prince's as her voice broke off and on...
Before the crown prince's wedding, everyone in the capital knew how much effort Miss Mo had put into pursuing him. Throwing herself into his arms was nothing to her (Mo Xingshuang: Explain what you mean by throwing myself into his arms. I was just grabbing hold of my lifeline!). After they married, however, everything changed. The crown prince clung to his crown princess constantly and couldn't bear to be apart from her for even a moment.
Mo Xingshuang: They don't know that I really can't live without the crown prince (literally. Don't read too much into it).
The crown prince: Xingshuang really does love me!

Ancient version of byt??? Is there such a thing 🐶🐶
I know I want to portray the heroine as weak and kind, but I don't want her to become a virgin.
