World-weary, self-destructive big shot gong x socially adept, foxy shou
On his twenty-sixth birthday, Lian Xingzang, who has no desire to live, decides to kill himself.
One jump off a cliff should end all his troubles. But just as he's about to leap, someone grabs his hem and hauls him back by force.
Fifteen-year-old Lu Yiqing, who was kidnapped, is overcome with the will to survive. He clings desperately to Lian Xingzang's clothes, pleading with him.
Lian Xingzang: "..."
His suicide attempt foiled and the kidnapping crisis over, Lian Xingzang now has twice as many troubles. He and the homeless Lu Yiqing stand facing each other on the street.
Lu Yiqing wipes away his tears, looking ready to sell himself into servitude and offer himself in return for the favor of being rescued. "My savior! I will repay this kindness a thousandfold, even if it costs me my life!"
Lian Xingzang rubs his throbbing temple, vaguely suspecting he's picked up a huge handful of trouble.
Lu Yiqing has always thought Lian Xingzang was an utterly ordinary man, except for being a little too handsome, tall and well-built, with a full set of pectorals and abs, a mild temper, a kind heart... and a tiny bit of special ability. Beyond that, there was nothing unusual about him.
It wasn't until the Wuminghui, born of "desire," rampaged through the human world, and strange, grisly incidents began happening one after another, that Lu Yiqing was swept into a crisis and found himself on the boundary between life and death.
Only then did he realize just how much of Lian Xingzang's "ordinariness" was an exaggeration.
Lian Xingzang said nothing. He simply stepped in front of him.
The moment he raised his hand, clouds of dust surged up. Vast, surging power swept everything away, and the Wuminghui's terrified, piercing shrieks rang through the sky.
When the dust settled, all was still.
Lu Yiqing looked up and saw Lian Xingzang, spotless in the light and shadow.
The man held out his palm and spoke calmly. "Let's go home."
Reader's Guide:
1. This novel is also known as A Man Named Lian Xingzang Decides to Die. The gong and shou have an eleven-year age gap. There is no romance before they are both adults; the romance begins after they come of age.
2. Both are each other's first love, and both are devoted to one another. Their sweet romance is locked in.
3. I wrote this to express my feelings. I'll be satisfied as long as I can write the two of them well.
4. I also wanted to call it Wandering Through the Void Night, but the title was rejected for being too artsy. (Heartbroken)
Theme: Loving and being loved are both superpowers.
