The witch ignores the quest and sleeps in her wooden cabin for four months.
Four whole months!!
Life is hard!
The System kitty tearfully plants the fields on behalf of its Host!
She admires the exquisite fountain. “Where are the farm's pets?”
The System kitty lifts its head proudly. “I'm right here!”
“I want a dog.”
The System angrily attacks its Host. “The farm only has one pet slot, and it's mine!”
Since there wasn't a choose-your-own-pet starter pack from the start...
The witch can only go into her dreams and catch herself an adorable little red-haired dog~
She carefully reads the Pet Care Guide and follows the instructions to the letter:
Give him water, play with him, prepare a place for him to sleep, and give him a bath.

After many trials and tribulations, the witch puts every instruction in the pet-care guide into practice.
On the last page, it says:
Congratulations, you'll have a lively, adorable, affectionate, well-behaved dog!
Lively?
Shanks smiles at her. “What's wrong?”
Adorable?
Shanks puts on a pitiful expression. “Luna~”
Affectionate?
Shanks tackles her, presses close, and asks, “Why are you ignoring me?”
Well-behaved dog?
Shanks grins and wraps his arms around her. “That's right, I'm your good dog~”
Well, he's not very well-behaved.
