Wen Jinning always knew that Jin Zhou was cold and arrogant, and that he had a bad relationship with his boyfriend.
She was always most afraid of people like him, so she made a point of keeping her distance.
One day, as she passed the boys' dormitory, she spotted an adorable teddy bear that had been cruelly abandoned in the bushes. She had just picked it up when she turned around and saw Jin Zhou, covered in fresh wounds.
His lips were pressed into a straight line, and he looked so fierce he might hit someone. "What are you doing?"
Wen Jinning hurriedly hid the teddy bear behind her back, her heart pounding as she stammered, "N-nothing."
Jin Zhou fixed her with a cold, sharp stare for a long moment, then gave a scornful laugh, his words dripping with hostility. "That's about all you people are good for."

After being snapped at for no reason, Wen Jinning understood all too well why her boyfriend said Jin Zhou was someone you shouldn't mess with.
Still, she figured they wouldn't cross paths again, so she didn't dwell on it.
Wen Jinning took the filthy teddy bear, which had fallen from a high-rise, home and carefully nursed it back to health.
Then she noticed that the plush bear's damaged spots were miraculously healing.
As a devoted collector of stuffed toys, Wen Jinning believed the bear had a soul.

She happened to catch her boyfriend embracing another woman on the street. The moment she saw Jin Zhou leaning lazily against a wall along the route she had to take, the pressure stopped her in her tracks, just as she had worked up the courage to go over and settle things with her boyfriend.
To the man watching her, it looked like proof of her cowardice and hesitation.
After a long, silent standoff, as her boyfriend looked over, Wen Jinning found herself trapped in Jin Zhou's arms, unable to move.
Right in front of her boyfriend, Jin Zhou's words crashed down like thunder:
"Why did you stop?"
Beneath his gentle smile lay a hunger to possess and claim her.
"You kiss me all over with drool every day."
"But that's all the courage you've got for him?"
