*Devoted dog-like top, nonhuman character, cosmic horror, multiple branching endings, mutual obsession, hurt/comfort
[Calmly obsessive dog lover bottom X devoted, very crafty Border Collie top]
-
Three years ago, Gan Chun's only family, the little dog he depended on, Xiao Man, passed away.
After that, Gan Chun was plunged into a profound sense of absurdity.
Dialogue boxes from a game appeared before his eyes. His sanity value was clearly displayed above his field of vision, and choices would occasionally pop up in front of him.
[Gan Chun]
[Sanity: 30 (Mental state: good)]
[Today, your most important family member, Xiao Man, died. You can't bear to part with it. You decide to...]
[1. The dog needs to be cremated and placed in an urn. I'll take care of its funeral arrangements.]
[2. Xiao Man is all I have. It's my dog, in life and in death! I'll freeze it in the refrigerator so it can stay with me forever!]
Gan Chun's eyes shifted slightly as he locked Xiao Man, whose body had not yet gone cold, inside his refrigerator.
[Sanity: -20 (The world is becoming a little dangerous, and so is your reason.)]
-
Gan Chun lived with the dog in his refrigerator for three years.
Food and drinks were frozen on the upper shelves. His dog was on the bottom shelf, where he could see it whenever he opened the refrigerator.
Everything was just as it had been three years ago. He had never lost his dog.
On the morning he decided to leave the game world, Gan Chun's sanity was hanging by a thread. His knife was already sharp, and the bathtub was filled with hot water.
A man suddenly knocked on his door.
The man was tall and handsome, with the delicate features of a large doll. Yet he crawled on all fours, awkwardly dragging himself across the floor in a nonhuman posture and wriggling into Gan Chun's home. He pressed Xiao Man's pet button.
"Xiao Man. Xiao Man. I. Xiao Man. Love you. Gan Chun."
Gan Chun laughed. He thought he had finally gone mad after all.
"Dogs don't wear clothes, do they? If you're going to pretend to be my dog, then don't let the act slip for the rest of your life."
Gan Chun bent down and stroked the man's hair, as if petting the dog who had died three years ago.
"Hungry? There's still some of your favorite food at home. When I miss you, I eat some. Let's eat together."
"You haven't forgotten where you're supposed to go, have you? Let's practice again." He held up the worn clicker and pressed it, making the sound that used to make Xiao Man's ears perk up.
He watched the man kneel in the dog crate without a shred of dignity, lowering his head to sniff the pee pad. His eyes turned gentle, then utterly cold.
"Xiao Man, be good. Don't turn into a human."
"Don't make me lose my dog again."

Later...
[Gan Chun]
[Sanity: -200 (!@#!@¥!)]
[The man who calls himself Xiao Man has professed his love for you. He has made an indecent advance and wants you to become his mate. You find it absurd. You hate him, yet you love it so much. You...]
[1. The puppy has grown up and developed unnecessary thoughts. It should be neutered. It doesn't have an ID, so I can't take it to the hospital to be neutered. Maybe I should do it myself.]
[2. As long as it is still my dog, I'll solve all its troubles, including its heat. I'll satisfy him, as long as it is still my dog.]
-
Xiao Man curled up his large body in the dog bed where he had slept for more than ten years, clutching Gan Chun's clothes as he gazed at the front door, waiting for his owner to come home.
He gently fiddled with the button and used the surveillance camera to send his longing to his owner.
"Gan Chun. Owner. Like. Mine."
In his heart, he silently spoke the human words he had practiced hundreds and thousands of times since becoming human, but had never dared to say to his owner.
"Gan Chun, my owner. Mine."
"Mommy dog."

Please note:
1. This is the current version of the blurb, and I'm still revising the outline. The full manuscript is in progress, and I may still change the blurb before the story starts! The core premise, "A depressed owner freezes his dog after it dies, and the dog returns as a human to save him," will not change. Other things, like the characters' personalities and the worldbuilding, may still change.
2. The inspiration came from hearing about people who put their deceased pets in the freezer. While this behavior is unhealthy, this kind of obsessive love unexpectedly hits me right in the feels TAT
3. When the top was still a dog, he really was a dog, and he had been neutered =w= They love each other so much, with a love between owner and dog that can move heaven and earth! Their bond as owner and pet is tangled up with their romantic love, and the two can't be separated!
4. There should be branching endings! The branching endings are usually Be (bad ending) or Te (an ending between good and bad), and each takes up only about one chapter. Readers who aren't interested or don't like branching endings can skip them. The main story's ending is Ne (perfect ending).
5. I'm still trying out other fun ideas and writing styles. Readers can add it to their favorites and wait and see first =w=!
