I've always written stories about men with secret crushes. Now I'm challenging myself to write one about a woman with a secret crush.
This is a story about Chen Jianyue's older brother. It should be bittersweet.
The winter solstice of 2012, the end of the world predicted by the Maya.
As the clock ticked past midnight, clear moonlight spilled beside the window, and the wind blew open her diary.

The fourth year of my crush on Chen Zhike.
Sunlight slanted into the dim equipment room. Amid the drifting dust and shifting light, a boy in a white shirt stood silhouetted against the light and held out his hand to her. His features were elegant, his voice gentle: "I remember you."
The ninth year of my crush on Chen Zhike.
After the academic group's dinner, she was the last to leave. A tall, straight figure cast a shadow. The man stood outside the private room, his expression unreadable, his voice even: "Am I just your senior?"
(Extended version)
At the academic group's dinner, her friendly senior introduced her to the others, especially the professor's prize student. When he learned that Xi Cheng and Chen Zhike had gone to the same high school, the senior asked excitedly, "Then you must know each other, right?"
The man across from her glanced over as if casually. She gripped her cup and shook her head. "Senior was famous. I only knew of him."
The dinner ended, and she was the last to leave.
As she was about to go out, a tall, straight figure cast a shadow.
She froze, then forced herself to call softly, "Senior..."
"You only knew of me?" His voice was even above her. "I seem to remember a little more than my junior does."
In their senior year of high school, she had said she wanted to attend the same university as him.

"The page the wind turned to in my diary was you."
In other words, you were the secret the wind revealed.

I'll post the complete version once I've finished revising it. The plot will stay the same, though some details may change.
Theme: It was you.
