After the Necromancer Developed Osteoporosis

The necromancer had lived too long. No matter how carefully he looked after himself, human bones inevitably wore down over time. Finally, at the age of 666, he developed osteoporosis.

The necromancer decided to replace a few bones. He rummaged through a mass grave until he found a few sturdy, healthy, and rather beautiful bones.

He replaced his own bones with them and was quite pleased.

But that night, he heard another voice deep inside his mind, as if two souls were crammed into the same body.

The voice asked, "Who are you?"

The necromancer sensed trouble. These bones seemed to belong to a paladin. Only a paladin's soul could remain attached to their bones after death.

The voice paused, then ventured, "Tommy?"

The necromancer stopped stirring his potion.

He decided this was the worst day of his life.

Not only was the voice a paladin, it belonged to the nemesis who had betrayed him.

Only his nemesis would call him "Tommy" in that cloying voice.

1. Just an idea I'm playing with. The bottom will be a skeleton at first, though some details may be adjusted later.
