Cats Put Everyone in Their Place

Miao Mi was a happy school cat, and people often said, "That cat must be a spirit in disguise."

Then she really did become a spirit. A bolt of lightning struck, turning her into a human, a three-year-old toddler.

Damn that lightning! Give me back my beautiful fur! Give me back my sharp claws!

That same lightning also sent Miao Mi from a school in the early twenty-first century to a mountain village in the 1970s.

Granny Miao of Green Mountain Village found a little girl in the hills.

From then on, that eccentric family of Granny Miao's stumbled and bumbled their way onto an unexpectedly successful path to prosperity.
