A Letter of Divorce

Liu Nanxu had been married to Mu Yunzhou for three years when he suddenly handed her a divorce letter, claiming she had failed to bear him a child in all that time.

Liu Nanxu was overjoyed inside, but put on a tearful show, acting like a pitiful woman cast aside by her husband. She had married Mu Yunzhou against her will, so this was exactly what she wanted.

On the night he divorced her, Mu Yunzhou had a strange dream. A white-bearded old man with an otherworldly air told him that Liu Nanxu was the empress fate had destined for him, and that only she could help him ascend the throne and build an empire to last for generations.

Mu Yunzhou woke with a start, regretting it so much he could have kicked himself.
