Fu Ci was a bona fide female cultivator from the Joyful Union Sect. To put it plainly, she was a pretty vase with nothing else going for her.
So despite having only Qi Refining cultivation, she resolutely joined the upcoming Immortal Dao Tournament, hoping to pick out a suitable partner from among the young prodigies of the cultivation world.
But the tournament had barely begun. She still hadn't found a male cultivator to her liking, and she had already gotten herself covered in dust and nearly lost half her life. Fu Ci couldn't help having second thoughts.
Maybe she should try another approach instead.
2.
"You saw that just now, didn't you?" The young sword cultivator's strikingly handsome features were sharp enough to cut. He shot her a glacial glance.
"I didn't see anything!" Fu Ci promised. Even if she had seen something, she could pretend she hadn't, as long as the young sword cultivator moved the sword away from her neck.
"Unfortunately, I don't believe promises from the living." He smiled, but the smile never reached his eyes.
Fu Ci looked at the bodies strewn across the ground nearby and squeezed her eyes shut with difficulty. Was she going to lose the other half of her life today?
3.
Yan Zhengsheng had entered the Tianyuan Sect bearing a blood feud.
He used the resources of one of the cultivation world's top sects to advance rapidly, while taking pains to conceal his cultivation in order to guard against the enemy hiding in the shadows.
He never expected an Immortal Sect Tournament to let a female cultivator from the Joyful Union Sect discover his secret.
She couldn't be allowed to live.
Yan Zhengsheng silently resolved to kill her.
4.
"Yan Zhengsheng, your revenge is complete, and your secret isn't a secret anymore. Why are you still following me?"
Yan Zhengsheng was about to become the new sect leader of the Tianyuan Sect. Fu Ci thought their ill-fated entanglement had finally come to an end, and happily packed her things to return to the Joyful Union Sect.
But before she could even leave the mountain gate, Yan Zhengsheng, leaning against an old bamboo tree in his blue robes, blocked her way with his sword.
"Where are you rushing off to?" Yan Zhengsheng asked casually.
"What do you mean, rushing off? I'm going home!"
It was such a perfectly reasonable thing to say, yet for some reason Fu Ci suddenly felt guilty when she met Yan Zhengsheng's gaze.
"Your Great Dao is still unfulfilled. How can you go home?" Yan Zhengsheng smiled.
"Why don't you let me help you attain the Great Dao, so you can return in glory?"
Fu Ci froze. What Great Dao did the Joyful Union Sect have? Wasn't it just...
★Coming soon: My Girlfriend Is Super Awesome. Here's the blurb★
1.
Zhuang Jue had grown up with his parents in a big city. But after his grandmother fell seriously ill, he decided to return to the small, obscure county where she lived and attend high school there, keeping her company in place of his mother, who couldn't come back.
But as soon as he returned to Huaicheng, Zhuang Jue, who had always believed in science, encountered something utterly unscientific: a water ghost disguised as a child tricked him into the river, where he nearly drowned.
Luckily, a pale hand reached underwater in time, grabbed Zhuang Jue, and hauled him out.
Ignoring how bedraggled he was, soaked from head to toe, Zhuang Jue hurried to thank his rescuer. When he looked up, he saw a girl crouched in front of him, smiling with crescent-shaped eyes.
"You came back from out of town, right? This is the first time I've seen your face. But you've inherited the same good looks as the rest of the Wei family."
2.
The second time Zhuang Jue saw Chu Dongqing was at a snack stall outside school.
The pretty girl stood there gracefully, staring intently at the takoyaki being turned on the griddle. For some reason, she reminded him of the stray cat he often fed after coming to his grandmother's home.
"Hey, Zhuang Jue, what are you looking at?"
The classmate with him followed his gaze, and the smile on his face instantly froze.
Zhuang Jue was wondering why his classmate had stopped talking halfway through when Chu Dongqing noticed them too and immediately waved at them cheerfully.
"Hey, you two! Don't go out tonight, or you might never make it back."
After saying that, Chu Dongqing carried off her freshly cooked takoyaki and skipped away.
His classmate looked uneasy. He gave an awkward laugh and asked Zhuang Jue if he really believed the strange things some random person had said.
Thinking back to what had happened the day he first met Chu Dongqing, Zhuang Jue ultimately turned down his classmate's enthusiastic invitation to go hiking on the mountain at night.
He felt Chu Dongqing hadn't said that for no reason.
3.
Zhuang Jue sprinted along the mountain path. Dark tree shadows pursued him from behind, while the cold white moonlight illuminated his pallid face.
Yet the path that had taken only half an hour to climb before now seemed to have no end.
Zhuang Jue strongly suspected that whatever was chasing him had deliberately trapped him.
Even so, as an ordinary person, he could do nothing about it. His phone had lost its signal long ago.
Just as Zhuang Jue couldn't take it anymore and stopped for a brief rest, a hand suddenly reached out from behind and tapped his shoulder.
His heart seemed to stop for a beat.
"Didn't I tell you beforehand not to go out tonight?"
A familiar female voice rang out, full of laughter. Zhuang Jue turned around and saw Chu Dongqing standing behind him, smiling brightly in a white cotton nightgown.
Zhuang Jue was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when he noticed from the corner of his eye that there wasn't even a shadow beneath Chu Dongqing's feet.
His pupils contracted once more. He didn't know whether she was human or ghost.
