How to Turn Your Archnemesis into Your Wife

Sophna is a cultist.

Unfortunately, under imperial law, cultists who are discovered have only one option: go to prison.

Sophna has no desire to spend the rest of her life behind bars.

Luckily, she married a true paragon of virtue, the famous police chief of Starstone City, Love Gohershite.

Now, nobody would suspect who she really was.

2.

Still, marriage hasn't been entirely good news. Sometimes it gets Sophna into trouble.

Like getting caught up in all sorts of dangerous incidents for no apparent reason: car crashes, explosions, and being taken hostage, more than once.

When Love and Sophna sit across from each other at an interrogation room table, he asks why she came to him if she wanted to conceal her identity.

"You know enemies can't become wives, right?" Sophna asks him earnestly in return.

Rex never expected to be rescued, let alone by a witch.

According to the Church, witches were the very definition of treachery and cruelty, sweet-talking snakes who had to be bound to the gallows and burned to ash to stop them from doing evil.

But Rex had no choice.

If the red-haired witch standing before him, her hair a wild mess down her back, her eyes greener than a deep pool choked with water plants, had glanced his way with casual disinterest and agreed to help him take revenge, kill his way back to the capital, reclaim the throne, and make his enemies prostrate themselves at his feet, sobbing as they begged his forgiveness, then Rex was willing to stake the honor of the royal family and his own life to enter into an unequal contract with her.

Once the deed was done, Rex would gladly place before her priceless jewels, mountains of gold and silver from the royal treasury, even noble titles and vast estates.

"What a shame. I'm not interested in any of that," the beautiful witch said with a smile, turning down Rex's offer.

"Your revenge has nothing to do with me."

3.

Later, the handsome, blond king sat upon a throne forged in blood and fire. A mere half-lidded glance from him was enough to make the ministers below tremble, afraid of provoking the young lion.

After a long wait, the king suddenly asked, "Actually, no one ever said the queen has to stay in the palace. She can choose whatever life she wants, right?"

Even if she liked living in the forest, being a witch who studied strange potions and was full of wicked amusements, that was fine too.

He would bow his proud head, remove his brilliant crown, and gladly let her order him around.

All for the sake of earning a moment of the witch's favor.
