My Top-Tier Star Idol Teammate Keeps Trying to Ship Us

What's it like to be an overlooked member of a top-tier group? Rong Xi has a few things to say about that. A total novice who joined halfway through and can't do anything, he's a wooden pretty boy who finds it absolutely delightful to lie flat.

Aside from the group's required activities, his popular bandmates rush off to take solo gigs. He can just stay in the dorm and put his feet up while still getting a share of the money. Life is wonderful.

The only slight downside is that Gu Shen, the popular bandmate he barely knows, looks like a cool, aloof heartthrob and is hugely popular for his movie roles, but is actually cold and distant.

They've barely exchanged a few words in private. They're from completely different worlds and don't even greet each other when they meet. But one day, Gu Shen starts touching him on camera, as if by accident.

During a blindfolded guessing game, Gu Shen is halfhearted with everyone else, but keeps touching Rong Xi over and over. Then he guesses wrong.

At first, Rong Xi thinks Gu Shen is acting this way because they aren't close. But in the next activity, where they have to pair off, Gu Shen picks him. Gu Shen accidentally drinks from Rong Xi's water, and when Rong Xi takes a nap in a corner of the sofa, Gu Shen is sitting at the other end when he wakes up.

Rong Xi finally works up the courage to ask why. The only answer he gets is two words: "fan service."

Rong Xi doesn't want to play along, but there's nothing he can do about this headstrong, rich, top-tier star. He has no choice but to go along with it. But Gu Shen is so domineering that his fan service knows no bounds and keeps getting more outrageous. Eventually, they even have to act close in private.

Rong Xi is terrified, thinking he'll be ripped to shreds, but the fans love it. Somehow, he becomes popular and even lands his first TV drama role.

The drama has a small budget and a gay romance storyline, so everyone is unhappy he's taking the role and boycotts it.

Rong Xi thinks acting is easier than dancing, and it's a good way to get away from Gu Shen, so why not? He just hopes his co-star will be easy to get along with.

Then he arrives on set and sees a handsome face that everyone is fawning over.

That afternoon, a top-tier idol takes on a gay romance drama directed by a renowned filmmaker, and the trending topics explode one after another.

Countless fans of the couple are overjoyed. But Bai Yi looks at the script, packed with intimate scenes, and regrets his decision so much he wishes he could turn around and run.
