The Chief Minister's Mistress Ran Away

The dynasty is flourishing, and songs and dances fill the land. Everyone envies the chief minister, Shi Jingzhi, for his gentle, jade-like demeanor and modest courtesy.

But no one knows that he keeps a beloved woman hidden away, secretly maintaining Bai Xingzhi, a merchant's daughter, as his concubine.

Bai Xingzhi thought she was just one of his many concubines, and that he would send her away as soon as he tired of her.

So she waited and waited and waited, until at last he said, "I will marry you."

If not now, when?
