The world looks a little strange to Ai Yi. She often sees supernatural beings like ghosts.
To reduce how often she encounters strange creatures, she moves to a sun-drenched metropolis on the East Coast.
Her new neighbor is a reporter with a gentle, friendly personality.
Everyone else in the apartment building seems normal, too.
Ai Yi thinks her life will finally settle down, but at some point, her neighbor starts acting strangely.
The reporter ignores the neighbors who greet him, and his strength is so abnormal he can leave fingerprints in the stair rail.
One night, Ai Yi comes home and sees what looks like one of her neighbor's colleagues lying on the floor through the partly open door of his apartment.
The next moment, her eyes meet her neighbor's as he opens the door.
The reporter's eyes are pitch-black and murky, with a dangerous red glint. In a cold voice, he asks if she'd like to come in for a cup of tea.
This isn't her neighbor.
Just as the thought occurs to Ai Yi, a string of information appears before her eyes.

...Her world seems to have gotten even stranger.

After helping Mr. Reporter return to normal, Ai Yi moves away from the metropolis.
She goes to Gotham, where she meets another new neighbor.
Jason seems to be involved with the local mob. He's got a bit of a temper, and every time he goes out, he looks ready to pick a fight. But surprisingly, he's a good person who helps the weak.
Apart from gunshots, nothing strange has happened around the apartment building.
Ai Yi thinks it's not too bad, but then, one night, her neighbor suddenly becomes cheerful and talkative.
That wouldn't normally be a problem, except he enthusiastically asks if she'd like him to help her murder someone.
...Why does it feel like this isn't her neighbor either?

Ai Yi moves again in the middle of the night. Since she can't find a taxi in Gotham, she checks into a hotel for the time being.
At midnight, she sees a Gotham vigilante in a long black cape enter the room next door.
Worried she'll run into another strange neighbor, Ai Yi gets up early to check out.
But she runs right into a man in a black bodysuit, with a white face, red lips, and a beaming smile, coming out of the room next door.
...D-did the guest in the room next door change overnight?
1. The setting is a mishmash, and the timeline is all over the place.
2. There are other neighbors besides the ones mentioned above, and she'll visit other cities too.
3. The title comes from a game of the same name. There will be urban-legend horror elements, including impostors.
