As a demon, Athenis had silver hair, fierce looks, and razor-sharp claws. She had roamed Hell for years, pinning other evil creatures to the ground and wiping the floor with them.
Then one unlucky day, she got in over her head and fell into the human world while battling a powerful enemy.
The bad news: she had lost most of her power, shrunk to less than a tenth of her original size, and couldn't even return to Hell.
The good news: the human world was in chaos, caught up in a war, and full of evil souls she could use to regain her strength.
Athenis soon came across a dark-cloaked human with cat ears.
His soul was weak and gloomy, and he looked like he could be headed straight to Hell to get in line.
Athenis helped him fend off his pursuers, found him a place to sleep, and put up with him calling her "cat" as she waited for his soul to become completely corrupt.
Who would have thought that this human's soul would grow brighter by the day, as if it had been steeped in holy water?
...Something feels off. Why is my food going bad?
"Is There Something Wrong with the Way She Raises Humans?"
"Can I turn back? Not sure. Let's wait and see."
