After the college entrance exams ended, Cheng Yiyang boarded a train to his maternal grandmother's home in Ling County.
Ling County was a little northern backwater that would be getting ahead of itself by calling itself a small town. It had a temperate climate, a river running through it, and mountains all around. With no urban heat island effect, it was practically a summer resort.
Cheng Yiyang had come here to mend his fragile spirit, worn down and nearly broken by the college entrance exams. He had planned to go back once he felt more or less recovered.
But then he met someone.
