The protagonist gives up a high-paying job and an opportunity to study abroad, willingly staying by Ruan Yu's side to cook and care for him.

But as soon as his affection meter reaches one hundred, Ruan Yu wastes no time in digging his own grave.

Specifically:

He deliberately leaves the protagonist behind on their third anniversary to attend the wedding of someone who has a crush on him.

At the height of their devotion to each other, he abandons the protagonist to pick up his childhood friend, the one who got away, when he returns to the country.

He flirts with and pursues his childhood friend while tenderly promising the protagonist that they'll be together forever.

Later, he even tricks the protagonist into leaving the capital, then turns around and gets engaged to his childhood friend, only to be caught red-handed by the protagonist.

He just keeps digging his own grave.

And the protagonist finally turns dark, beyond his control.

According to the plot, after Ruan Yu's identity as a fake young master is exposed, the protagonist, the real young master, will drive him out of the capital. In the end, as the story says, he'll die in poverty and illness.

In the empty villa, Ruan Yu idly toys with the branches and leaves of a rose, waiting for the protagonist to return like a king and take his revenge.

But instead of revenge, what comes first is the protagonist's possessive love, born of unrequited longing.

The protagonist grips his slender waist and locks him against his chest. All Ruan Yu gets in return is the protagonist's long-suppressed question: "Ruan Yu, do you even have a heart?"

"But it doesn't matter. If you don't love me, I'll love you."

"Don't even think about leaving me. I'll never let go."

"For the rest of your life, you'll belong to me alone."

In the pitch-black room, there are only the two of them. Beneath the soft moonlight, rose branches entwine, and romance stretches without end.
