Jun Mi is a helpless fool with no one to depend on, and everyone bullies him. The only person he holds dear is his childhood friend and adoptive elder brother, for whom Jun Mi would give his whole heart. But for the sake of fame and fortune, his adoptive brother forces him, a man, to marry into an enemy nation.
In despair, Jun Mi turns to a friend for help, only to hear: "You're a fool. How could you ever be worthy of your adoptive brother, who came first in all three imperial examinations? Being sent to the enemy crown prince as a concubine is a blessing for you."
A sudden awakening clears Jun Mi's mind. Only then does he realize that he has been transmigrated into a book as its villainous antagonist. According to the story, the enemy crown prince will torture him to death, then hang his corpse on the city wall to bake in the sun for three months.
The tyrant emperor who killed his parents will use this as an excuse to attack the enemy nation. His adoptive brother will inherit the title that should have been Jun Mi's, and he and Jun Mi's friend will fall in love, rise to power, and go down in history.
His whole life has been a joke.
Jun Mi refuses to submit.
If Heaven wants him dead, then he'll defy Heaven! Jun Mi doesn't believe in fate; he believes only in himself. If Heaven and Earth are unjust, then he'll overturn this wretched world and create a peaceful, prosperous age of his own!
The tyrant emperor orders him to marry into the enemy nation, so he goes.
On his wedding night, he cuts the enemy crown prince's throat with his own hands, then joins forces with Great Zhou's general Yun Yin to launch a surprise attack and win a decisive victory.
The people of the enemy nation want to capture and kill him.
Jun Mi parades through the streets and leaves the enemy nation in broad daylight. Before departing, he takes their defense plans, then uses a masterful scheme to sow discord, turning them against one another and plunging the entire nation into chaos.
His parents' former soldiers refuse to accept him and humiliate him.
Jun Mi takes the man's head and uses an iron fist to bring the entire camp to heel. He inherits his father's fief and title, along with his mother's two hundred thousand Fenghou troops, becoming the true power behind Great Zhou's throne.
Jun Mi defeats the enemy nation, reclaims lost territory, and saves the people. His fame resounds across the lands, and the people love and respect him.
But those who once tormented him in every way are now afraid.
The emperor issues one imperial edict after another, claiming it was all a misunderstanding and promising Jun Mi the title of Regent if he returns to the capital.
His fair-weather friend travels a thousand miles to find him, weeping and begging for the chance to make amends.
His adoptive brother falls to his knees before him, remorseful, repeatedly offering to become Jun Mi's live-in son-in-law and make it up to him.
"Make it up to me? All right." Jun Mi smiles, then lays waste to the imperial city and drenches the capital in blood. He kicks the tyrant emperor off the Dragon Throne and chops his friend and adoptive brother to pieces to feed the dogs. "Since you know you were wrong, pay me back with your lives and your kingdom."
Extra scene:
Jun Mi ascends the throne, and peace reigns throughout the land. The rivers run clear and the seas are calm. Memorials from ministers requesting that he choose consorts pile three feet high on the imperial desk.
The great general pins Jun Mi firmly to the Dragon Throne, but his voice is full of hurt and sadness. "Your Majesty, do you not want me anymore?"
Jun Mi hooks an arm around his neck and chuckles. "My great general, you were the one who snatched me away from the enemy crown prince's wedding. How could I dare not want you?"
Yun Yin often says Jun Mi is Great Zhou's hope, the bright moon he longs for but can never have.
But Jun Mi knows that Yun Yin is the lifeline that saved him when all seemed lost. Yun Yin saved him, and Yun Yin took him away.
From then on, through every storm and season, they would never part, in life or death.
Reader's Guide:
1. Jun Mi (Jun Zhaoye) is the bottom; Yun Yin (Yun Hengkong) is the top.
2. A feel-good story. The romance isn't angsty; the two support each other. At first they can't stand one another, like sworn enemies who can't meet without bickering, but later they fall madly in love.
3. The bottom becomes emperor. The main story follows his rise to the throne. There are some vile cannon fodder characters, but the bottom takes care of them all.
4. The political scheming is childish, the setting and institutions are made up, and the characters are fictional. In short, the whole thing is basically schoolchildren pecking at each other. I wrote it for fun, so don't take it seriously.
5. If you like it, please add it to your collection. Love you all!
