Severing the Peach Blossoms: A The Disguiser Fanfic

The Disguiser: Chen Taohua (Cuiping) × Li Ya

Setting: Republican era

This is purely a personal ship, and the characters are very OOC.

Setting: A tenacious, unyielding materialist warrior, naive and playful at first, then rational and composed (Chen Taohua) × a patriotic soldier whose beliefs change later on (Li Ya)

The first time Li Ya met Cuiping, she was accompanied by the man who was her husband in name, and who had once been his fellow student. Li Ya lowered his head slightly.

His crisp Zhongshan suit creased in a few places as he moved. In a gentle, mild voice, he called her, "Sister-in-law."

Cuiping was wearing an elegant, well-tailored qipao. The moment she spoke, a natural, carefree manner shone through.

She leaned slightly to one side, grinned at him, and said, "Come in."

She had a silly charm unlike the refined ladies of Tianjin.

Li Ya looked at her once, and only once.

After that, he would never get another look.
