Ten years ago, a game appeared out of nowhere on Earth. At every moment, people are dragged into it, and if they die in the game, they die in real life as well.

The game has no name, only a symbol made up of seven circles. Humanity calls it The Seventh Ring.

There are seven differently colored rings in the game, each in three shades representing three levels of difficulty.

There is also a fourth, extra color: black. Players call instances marked by a black ring "Black Ring" instances. The odds of surviving one are one in ten million.

Only the unluckiest players are chosen for Black Ring instances.
