A Mermaid, Yet the World's Number One Striker [Blue Lock]

My name is Nanase Yuu, and I have an older brother named Nanase Haruka who is a swimming champion.

When I was five, I nearly drowned and became a mermaid. Sea creatures raised me, and I wasn't brought home until I was fifteen.

Legend has it that the more heartfelt blessings a mermaid receives from humans before adulthood, the prettier their tail will be when they grow up. Humans with more unusual hair colors are especially likely to have their blessings accepted.

As luck would have it, I've been a devoted Mary Sue fan since I was little, and I absolutely adore dazzling, brilliant rainbow colors.

That's why I joined the Time Government and spent time with tsukumogami whose hair came in every color imaginable. I also accepted an invitation from my Q-Bee colleague to take on missions in various worlds, where I met a white-haired sorcerer and a red-haired magician.

In the real world, I set my sights on a soccer prodigy with rare azuki-colored hair, and started playing soccer for his sake.

Luckily, mermaids have no gender before they come of age, so I successfully joined the boys' soccer team.

Along the way, I also received an invitation from [Blue Lock], bringing me one step closer to my dream.

On my way to achieving my goal, I also picked up lots of pretty humans, including but not limited to a peach-colored little shark, a purple kitty, and a blue lamb. They gave me a huge boost in confidence.

I thought we would be friends for life.

But at the celebration dinner after the World Cup, I forgot my coming-of-age day and changed back into a girl in front of everyone.

After that, everyone started looking at me differently.

Me: "..."

Get a grip! A best friend is just a best friend. A best friend can't become a wife!

Reader's Guide:

1. The heroine was a girl before she became a mermaid! Mermaids are genderless, and she was raised by nonhuman beings, so her values are quite different from ordinary people's. She's a natural, speaks her mind, and is an ENFP mermaid puppy.

2. This is a crossover with sports anime, Touken Ranbu, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Hunter x Hunter. The stories will be interwoven, and the plots may be changed. (I may add other series later, depending on how things go.)

3. A harem, all-around love story! Blue Lock is the main focus! Please don't expect too much from the other plotlines. I'm not sure how much I'll write! I may write more about Touken Ranbu, depending on how things go, since the author just got back into it.
