Please Don't Tell Me My Roleplay Chatroom Friends Are the Real Deal

You have a group chat that you use as a memo pad and to share your daily game quests.

It's just you and your alt account.

But one unremarkable night, a whole bunch of weirdly named members suddenly show up in it.

And you can't kick them out.

You stare at their profile pictures and usernames for a while, then realize they might be role-playing, and taking it very seriously.

You immediately get the idea and decide to treat them like fellow fans, chatting about the anime you're watching.

You: Please, Lock, give up on that awful fluorescent green. It looks like you're surrounded by athlete's foot. Please return my blue for free!

[ID Green Grass]: ...

You: Nagi! The king of skiving off! The contrast between his 190 cm height and baby face is the best!

[ID Miffy Bunny]: oxo

You: Miss Chigiri! The red panther's shot pierced my heart! You're my destined wife!

[ID Red Cheetah]: Hmph.

You crack jokes like a pro and soon become friends with them.

Until one day, you discover that the world has lost a manga called Blue Lock and gained a group of adult soccer players with the same names, now active on the world stage.

You think back on everything you've done over the past few days.

Sharing shipping videos until the real people liked them, uploading 18+ explicit pictures, calling everyone baby and making outrageous claims about kissing them to death...

You turn off your phone expressionlessly.

It's fine. You just want to die a tiny bit.

Reader's Notes:

1. The main story is told in third person.

2. The heroine's world is a crossover with other sports anime.

3. The timeline is after the Blue Lock guys have reached adulthood. The main reason is that the original story is still ongoing, and it's hard to write about their teenage years. (Honest.)
