Sera Masumi dreamed about someone.
When she was in middle school, she ran into her brother, Akai Shuichi, at a train station. She followed him all the way, and when he caught her, he gave her a merciless scolding.
Just as Sera Masumi stood there, on the verge of tears, a brotherly young man comforted her and taught her to play the bass.
He said he was a friend who played in a band with Akai Shuichi.
Years later, news came that Akai Shuichi had died. The other blond man she'd met that day was suspiciously pretending to be a cafe waiter and a detective. But the brotherly young man who taught her to play the bass...
had disappeared without a trace.
Sera had long realized that their identities couldn't be as simple as they seemed.
Lately, she'd been dreaming about that person over and over, for no apparent reason.
Finally, one day, she had an epiphany. "You're dead, and you're visiting me in my dreams to get me to find your killer and avenge you, right?"
?
Hiro's smile froze on his face.
The next day, she opened her eyes to find herself still in a hotel, but her mother had vanished.
A message on her phone told her to report as soon as possible to an unfamiliar police academy.
At the academy, she saw the brotherly young man who was supposed to be dead.
[If I find the killer and stop him from dying, I should be able to go home, right?]
With that in mind, Sera got to work.
So the police academy students saw the following:
Scene one: Morofushi accidentally steps on a wet patch in the cafeteria and slips. He grabs the blond man beside him to steady himself, and Sera immediately appears behind him, catching him around the waist and holding him upright.
Sera explains: You have to be prepared for accidental deaths.
Scene two: Sera has just turned down an invitation to a mixer when she hears that Morofushi will be going too. She immediately changes her mind.
At the mixer, she pushes a certain blond man aside to sit next to Morofushi, then spends two hours asking about everyone in his life.
Especially whether he's dating anyone.
Sera explains: It's always the husband. In murder cases, the victim's spouse is often the prime suspect.
Scene three: Near graduation, after all her friends assure her, "She definitely likes you," Hiromitsu Morofushi confesses to Sera.
Sera hesitates for less than a second before cheerfully accepting.
She'd been worried about finding an excuse to keep following Morofushi after graduation and track down the killer.
Years later, when a blond man with dark skin learns the whole story, he realizes it all sounds familiar.
This seems just like the way that FBI agent infiltrated the organization.
