Stray Cat Diary, Day 1
I woke up to two bad pieces of news:
First, I had lost my human skin.
Second, I had turned into a kitten.
Third, I was starving.
My paws were soaked by the rain, so I stuck out my tongue to lick them and discovered that black, petroleum-like tentacles were uncontrollably pouring out of my tongue.
The rain was cold, and my heart was colder.
What normal person would feed a cat whose mouth was full of tentacles?
Stray Cat Diary, Day 2
I braced all four paws against an air-conditioning unit and meowed at the sky.
All the other cats thought I was crazy. Only I knew I was laughing.
I knew which unlucky guy would feed me.
Inside the house, a man who couldn't stand the noise I was making impatiently threw a cup at me.
That's right.
My target was this short-tempered guy in a wheelchair, half-blind and a little mentally unstable.
Stray Cat Diary, Day Who Knows How Many
The short-tempered guy didn't want to keep me at first, but my shameless persistence wore down his resistance. Now he takes me everywhere he goes.
He's even come to see me as the only thing he has left to care about in this world.
I'm flattered.
He even wakes up in the middle of the night and searches the whole house if he can't find me.
I've been thinking that when I get my human skin back,
I can't tell him that I turned from a human into a cat. It's too bizarre.
But I could skin the cat and preserve its hide in formalin, then send it to him as an anonymous birthday surprise.
It's a pretty big hide, enough for him to use as a pillow so he won't wake up in the middle of the night anymore.
He'll be so happy!
