The Princess's Consort, Wed by Imperial Decree, Must Help Me Plot a Rebellion

She was a princess, and at first she was a little too bold for her own good.

When she heard of the people's suffering and how hard life was for them, she diligently studied government administration and organized disaster relief and aid for the poor.

Yet people accused her of putting on a show.

When she heard of foreign incursions and emergencies on the border, she studied military strategy and trained in martial arts.

Yet people said it was pointless.

As she grew up, she learned that even a princess was merely a tool of imperial power.

For example, in the emperor's eyes, her marriage was nothing more than a pair of shackles, meant to bind a top scholar whose union had not been approved.

So she obediently married, obediently bore children, and became a good princess in her father's eyes.

One day, she suddenly said to her consort, "I'm going to seize the throne."

He replied, "Then I'll handle logistics."

For a top scholar, was being picked out by the emperor from the examination results a blessing or a misfortune?

Becoming a princess's consort was almost the same as throwing away one's official career.

He had ambitions yet to fulfill and vengeance yet to exact. He couldn't spend his life as a powerless consort.

But fate was unpredictable. Who could have guessed that the princess he was to marry had once saved his life when he was at his lowest?

How could he fail to repay that kindness?

There seemed to be a few misunderstandings between them. Each thought that a marriage arranged by imperial command left little room for love.

But as time passed, it became hard to tell whether they were indifferent to each other or simply understood each other without words.

Between them, it seemed there had never been any need to say much.

Just as she had saved him without asking why, he could now stand by her without asking why, and help her defy the whole world.
