Qian Chongye woke up one day to find that the whole world had changed.
The Spirit Hall had fallen a thousand years ago, and everyone he knew had died so completely that not even their ashes remained. The only person he could rely on was a kidnapper who claimed to be his older brother, and he seemed a little off, too.
Kidnapper Tang Yin: How about I send you to school? It's the best academy on the continent, with beautiful surroundings, great facilities, excellent teachers, and guaranteed job placement after graduation. Honest deal, no tricks!
Qian Chongye: Oh.
Content notes:
1. An AU set in the Douluo universe, a long, slow-burn coming-of-age story. The main plot follows the timeline of Douluo II, with occasional interludes from the first installment. Written in a disjointed, stream-of-consciousness style, each chapter has a main POV section and some extra material, which may or may not be included. It features lots of canon events, heavily altered, and many original worldbuilding details.
2. Main couple: Tang San × Qian Chongye, no role reversal. The protagonist is six years old from the start, has amnesia, and comes with a time-limited debuff that leaves him physically weak. The love interest is not in a good place mentally and stays behind the scenes most of the time. The protagonist won't think about romance before his teens, at the earliest age twelve. Side couples: Huo Yuhao × Ju Zi, Tang Dong × Wang Qiu, Dai Yueheng × Ma Xiaotao, Bei Bei × Zhang Lexuan, Dai Huabin × Zhu Lu, and He Caitou × Xiao Xiao. Tang Ya and Xu Sanshi remain single.
3. The "ordinary coming-of-age romance" in the title is the main plot. There's no grand narrative, just personal growth and choices. Character viewpoints are limited by their own perspectives and may not reflect the truth. The truth will gradually be revealed as the story unfolds.
Theme: Love isn't the same as making a choice.
? It's rare to deviate from the original work. It's so exciting to watch.
