You Have Started the Heian-kyo Survival Simulator

You enter a game called "Heian-Kyo Survival Simulator." To get home, you have to beat it. The winning condition is simple: survive to the age of twenty-five in just one playthrough.

First playthrough:

[You chose the Heian period]

You are the personal maid of a young nobleman.

You're incredibly strong, and often carry your sickly young master outside on your back so he can bask in the sun.

Then, one day,

your master starts avoiding sunlight and craving blood.

He kills several chickens in the kitchen, and then even wants to drink your blood.

You figure the illness has finally driven him mad.

Out of pity, you let him drink your blood.

But he gets more and more addicted, until he suddenly starts gnawing on your neck.

Second playthrough:

[You chose the Sengoku period]

You seem to be an orphan.

As you wander aimlessly through the forest, starving, you happen upon a red-haired boy.

He asks whether you're running away from home, too.

You: I guess...

So he invites you to travel with him.

But when you go to town to sell the wild pheasants you'd caught in the mountains, you mistake someone else for him. You follow another red-haired boy, who is stiff as a board, back to his home. His name is Michikatsu.

During the time you secretly hide in Michikatsu's room,

he comes back covered in bruises after every lesson with his martial arts instructor. Then you gaze up at him with your sparkling puppy-dog eyes, and he feels so pressured that he has no choice but to teach you, too.

But you seem to have been born without a single point in this skill. After a few days of training, you're just as battered and bruised. You fall silent for a moment, then tell Michikatsu: Maybe you should focus on practicing. You can protect me in the future. You don't have to protect me forever, just until I'm twenty-five.

Michikatsu's face turns bright red, and he slowly nods.

But later on,

when he becomes a demon, you're the first person he comes looking for.

Third playthrough:

[You chose the Edo period]

You land in the pleasure district.

You're an apprentice in the Haginomotoya brothel, serving the oiran.

One day, while you're out fetching clothes from the tailor for the oiran you're so fond of, you come across a brother and sister huddled in a filthy street corner, wrapped in a ragged straw mat and nearly frozen unconscious.

You put every ounce of effort into practicing the shamisen, become the next oiran, and raise the siblings you took in until they're plump and healthy.

You have a certain customer with rainbow-colored, crystal-clear eyes to thank for your success as an oiran. He spends lavishly on you.

He adores you.

He gives you all kinds of priceless treasures, and every time he visits, he says in a gentle voice, "You're the cutest girl I've ever met. I wish you could stay with me forever."

Then one day, you tell him that someone is going to buy out your contract and take you away, and this will probably be the last time you meet.

Without changing his expression, he smiles and says, "It can't be helped. May I eat you?"

You figure you're not just an entertainer, so you agree.

You're angry. You're furious. You swear to get revenge on every man who ruined your save file. You put a hundred times as much effort into martial arts as you did into practicing the shamisen.

One day,

you encounter a rampaging wild boar in the mountains.

Afterward, you feed him every day. He helps chase off the boys who bully you. Not because you can't beat them, but because you worry you'll cripple someone if you get serious.

Then, one day,

the boar disappears.

You set off for the big city to find your pet.

And then you're kidnapped and sold to a brothel.

...At least you know your way around this place.

While escaping, you run into the Demon Slayer Corps' Water Hashira, who's on a mission here. You've failed to find your pet, have nowhere to go, and are nearly out of food. So you decide to go home with this man, who looks cold but somehow gives off an honest, dependable vibe, and mooch a meal off him.

Giyu: "..."

You angrily eat your food and declare, "This time, I'm definitely going to make you all pay! Muzan! Michikatsu! Doma! Damn it!"

Giyu, beside you: "...!"

He takes you to meet the Master.

Then you hear the members of the Demon Slayer Corps shouting excitedly, "The second person to meet Muzan and survive! And she's a poor little girl who looks so delicate!"

You punch a massive boulder to pieces.
