Falling in Love with Kozume

I was obsessed with shoujo manga and otome games, and I wanted a passionate romance of my own. But my love interest had to be like the male lead in a manga: over six feet tall, handsome, and athletic.

There was only one person around me who fit the bill: my childhood friend, Kuroo.

I told my other childhood friend, Kenma, about my plan to confess. When I was done, I patted my chest and promised, "Don't worry! Even if Kuroo accepts my confession, we won't leave you out when we go on dates!"

He paused for a moment, his head still lowered as he played his game, then went on as if nothing had happened. "That kind of thing... doesn't really matter, does it?"

Huh... is that so?

Once again, I scratched my head, unable to figure out what Kozume-kun meant.

But I felt reassured anyway.

Then Kuroo deliberately avoided me for several days in a row. How could he be so mean? Sniffling, I walked home with Kenma and kept complaining about Kuroo's awful behavior.

Suddenly, he said, "...Then go out with me."

"Mm... huh? What...?"

I froze.

He turned his face away. "...That's that. I'm going home."

Then he ran off at full speed.

And so...

I somehow ended up with a boyfriend.
