Please Don't Pity a God of Love [Western Fantasy]

The angel Liruiya was raised by her older brother.

Her brother was gentle as jade, serene and bright, with a face just like the god of love's. But unlike the licentious god of love, who indulged in worldly pleasures, her brother was gentle and innocent, the best person in the world.

Liruiya loved him.

On a sunlit day when all things were beginning to bloom, her brother died at the hands of the god of love, Luoxisi.

She stood in the shadows below the temple, gazing gravely at the radiant, glorious god.

"What gives him the right to live so happily?"

*

The god of love, Luoxisi: His skin was the finest beeswax, his curls melted gold, and his spring-dark eyes held the sighs of a starry night.

He ruled over love. No one could resist his allure. One glimpse of his face was enough to make people fall helplessly beneath his beauty and long for his favor.

No one knew that on countless silent nights, his angel locked him in a cold stone keep, where she humiliated and cursed him.

Luoxisi hated Liruiya.

He hated that she toyed with him, embraced him, kissed him, and left him thrashing in an abyss of desire, unable to ever leave her.

Luoxisi hated Liruiya.

They had the same face, the same soul. Why didn't she love him?

The lofty god was nothing but an incubus longing for Liruiya's caress.

A lowly stray dog, aching to be filled with love.
