Gradually unhinged, pleasure-seeking, scheming bottom x adorable, fake-crying top who’s trying to act human
Xia Qi is an ordinary convenience-store clerk. He’s kind to everyone and especially good at coming back to life on the spot.
On his way home after work, a flyer covered in yellow smiley faces fell from the sky.
The shadow of his friendly neighbor looked like a gigantic monster, stretching across the whole street as it earnestly urged him to pick up the flyer.
Xia Qi blinked, nodded, and smiled. “Sure.”
On the back of the flyer were rules that had to be followed.
[1. You must open the door for your neighbor at three o’clock.
2. The convenience store is open for seven hours and is closed in the morning.
3. Good night. Sweet dreams.]
He thought he would die, but instead, he picked up a pass to the world of ghost stories. When he looked up, he was already somewhere unfamiliar.
His neighbor gulped loudly and declared shamelessly, “I’ll visit you at three.”
Xia Qi crumpled the flyer and tossed it in the trash. Smiling, he replied, “Sure.”
At three in the morning, the neighbor knocked for a long time. When no one opened the door, he prepared to go in and kill whoever had broken the rules.
Xia Qi lay in bed: zzzzz.
The neighbor stood by the bed, ready to send him to the afterlife and looking forward to seeing his terrified expression: ...That’s so disrespectful to this monster!
The next morning, Xia Qi woke up and looked down at the large patch of blood on the fabric over his stomach. Wow, a surprise death.
So it really was three in the morning. That sure is baffling.jpg.
Xia Qi grabbed a knife from the kitchen. “Guess it’s my turn to kill you now. Let’s see, where is my dear neighbor?”
The neighbor fled in terror. “Don’t come any closer! Are you even human?!”
Xia Qi is a very kind convenience-store clerk who can come back to life. Unfortunately, every time he revives, he suffers a few minor side effects.
Poor, helpful neighbor, now in pieces here and there.
After saying good morning to his neighbor, Xia Qi was going to the convenience store to buy breakfast.
But several people were standing outside it, all dressed in store-clerk uniforms.
Xia Qi suddenly understood: So they’re in the same line of work.
The Rule Keepers: This blood-soaked guy has to be a mini-boss!
System: [All Rule Keepers have arrived.]
The Rule Keepers: What did you say he was?
Xia Qi sighed. “My brain just spoke. It looks like my condition is getting worse again.”
Xia Qi carefully wiped the blood off his dagger. “I don’t like following rules.”
A boy dressed in a maid outfit lifted his head from a sea of corpses, wiping away the list of rules he had just written as tears fell from his eyes.
Xia Qi gently cupped his face and wiped away his tears. “Good boy.”
The Rule Keepers, who had struggled to nearly clear the ghost story, watched helplessly as the rules reset. “...” Bro, we’re about to die.
