Zhu Ling’s married life wasn’t happy. His husband neglected and despised him.
But he didn’t blame his husband. He knew he deserved all of it.
He and his husband had grown up together, and their relationship had naturally turned romantic, until Zhu Ling lost his sight saving him.
His husband had been heartbroken at the time and asked him what he wanted.
They couldn’t afford to stay at a hospital. In their shabby rental room, a dim lightbulb cast its glow in Zhu Ling’s blank eyes.
“You once told me that we’d get married after graduation...”
Everything changed after that.
His husband started coming home later and later. One night, while he was dead drunk, Zhu Ling heard him say the name Fu Chiyu.
Fu Chiyu, the massage parlor’s VIP customer.
He was also the boss who constantly made things difficult for Zhu Ling’s husband.
Zhu Ling thought he’d sound Mr. Fu out when he gave him a massage the next day. If Mr. Fu was willing to treat his employees a little better, Zhu Ling would be happy to offer him more free services.
Later, Zhu Ling thought perhaps his husband was the one at fault.
He couldn’t see, but after spending more time with Mr. Fu, he knew he was handsome, wealthy, gentle, and considerate.
A good man who looked after his blindness, carried him down the stairs, helped him button his shirt, and let him stay the night. How could he be as awful as his husband claimed?
It turned out Zhu Ling was the bad person. He hadn’t even noticed that Fu Chiyu liked him, and he’d made a company president suffer moral condemnation on his behalf.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t control how I feel. I won’t bother you from now on. My upbringing tells me I can’t be a homewrecker...”
Zhu Ling felt both guilty and sorry for him.
Looks like he’d have to reconsider the divorce his husband had brought up.
-
The massage parlor’s owner was blind, but he was gentle and skilled. A friend recommended him as someone worth trying for a person with bipolar disorder and manic episodes like Fu Chiyu.
Fu Chiyu tried him, and sure enough, he was just what he needed.
He really is blind, to have fallen for such a money pit.
That was Fu Chiyu’s second impression.
Then, at a family recognition banquet for one of the Fu family’s collateral branches,
he stepped out onto the terrace for some air and saw the money pit sneakily ushering Zhu Ling out the front door.
So this money pit must be the nephew the Fu family had just acknowledged.
He took off his coat, draped it over the little blind man, whose eyes were red from crying, and carried him home.
If the money pit doesn’t want a wife, then Fu Chiyu will give him an uncle’s wife instead.
He’d be happy to help.

*A new-top story | Scheming, obsessive top × innocent, honest bottom
*The bottom is sickly. The top isn’t exactly a good person, so anyone with high moral standards should steer clear.
*The bottom and the scumbag top were never actually together. There’s a groveling arc, but it fails.
*The wealthy-family setting is deliberately old-fashioned and over-the-top.
