Why Can't a Spirit Medium Be a Beast Tamer?

After dying in the modern world, Yue Xingyin transmigrates to an ancient society with a rigid class system.

Here, beast taming is everything. Humans form contracts with spirits to defend against endless waves of monsters from beyond the realm.

Without a bonded spirit of her own, Yue Xingyin is deemed by her family to have poor beast-taming potential. Once she comes of age, they send her to the countryside to fend off the monsters encroaching on the wilderness.

Everyone expects her to meet her end at any moment.

To everyone's astonishment, she not only thrives, but keeps gathering more and more spirit beasts until they all have no choice but to bow to her.

Word has it that every one of her spirit beasts belongs to the same legendary spirit race: the Immortals.

Yue Xingyin, who only gathered a bunch of little animals to collect resources and help her cultivate immortality: Why can't spirit mediums count as beast tamers?

-

The good news: I've transmigrated, and this world has magical creatures called spirits.

The bad news: This isn't a prosperous, peaceful modern world of spirits. It's an ancient world where the powerful aristocracy controls the spirits and enslaves everyone else.

Yue Xingyin, who devoted her previous life to cultivating immortality, looks at the territory she's been given and decides to put her specialty to use: the spirit-beast contract technique she mastered before transmigrating.

Yellow Immortal, White Immortal, Fox Immortal, Willow Immortal...

Who says you need beast-taming talent to tame spirit beasts?
