After Turning the Villain's Wife into the Protagonist of an Explicit Novel

A gong who gets stabbed in the back a lot and goes off the rails x a shou who says one thing and means another, cool-headed yet wildly unhinged

Fang Xu was bound to a conquest System. It ordered her to win over a villain within the time limit.

If she failed, she would die.

Fang Xu didn't want to die, and she fell in love with the villain's wife at first sight. After a flurry of moves, she successfully drove the villain's wife's affection score down to -99.

System: “Nice.”

System: “There's no saving this. Just wait to die.”

Fang Xu didn't care. Every day, she dragged the villain's wife, Xie Yuli, off to have fun and unwind. Then, on the day her conquest deadline arrived, she sank into the bathtub under Xie Yuli's gaze.

The icy water swallowed Fang Xu. She stared straight at Xie Yuli, watching herself become starved of oxygen, watching her vision grow hazy.

Xie Yuli dragged her out of the water, eyes full of hatred. Her affection score climbed to -100 at that very moment, yet the System declared the conquest a success.

Fang Xu kissed her like a vengeful ghost and let out a wild, exultant laugh.

“I love you, so you'll never know a moment's peace.”

Xie Yuli could hear the conversations between the System and its conquerors,

so she watched coldly as they failed at their missions and lost everything in their gambles on love.

Until a new conqueror appeared: Fang Xu.

Xie Yuli hated Fang Xu. She hated her to death. Without that hatred to uphold her dignity and her principles, another feeling would have brought her to ruin.

But on the day Fang Xu was about to die in front of her, she still lost.

Her violent hatred was ultimately tempered into a raw, blood-soaked love. Beneath love, even the proudest spirit was no more than a pool of spring water.

“I hate you, so you have to stay. I don't care if you treat me as your lover, your dog, or your plaything. I just want you to stay.”

“Love is equal, but we aren't. So let me hate you until the day I die.”

A few things to know before you start:

As the blurb says, the gong is completely unhinged and will never change, while the shou seems clear-headed but has been crazy for a long time, too. Crazy people in love are bound to torment each other, but at heart, this is still a sweet, healing story (probably).

Healthy relationships are important, of course, but dysfunctional ones are just so entertaining.
