A Letter from the Blue Sky

The new principal of Yunchuan No. 1 High School took office one crisp September, as autumn breezes swept through the air. Upon learning that this year’s second-year class had once again claimed first place in both the arts and science tracks in the five-school joint diagnostic exam, for the first time in many years, he drafted the ambitious “Ace Plan.” His goal was to win the top spots in both tracks again in two years and restore Yunchuan No. 1 High School to its former glory. Week One of the “Ace Plan”: The grade director reported that the top student in science was a handsome boy who needed special attention paid to his social life, to make sure he didn’t get involved in a youthful romance and lose focus on his studies, jeopardizing the “Ace Plan.” Week Two: The grade director reported that the top student in arts had even more admirers and needed even closer supervision. Week Three: The principal decided to draw up a plan to crack down on the school’s dating culture. Week Four: The top student in arts and the top student in science kissed right in front of him.
