When Qiao Yan wakes up, he discovers he's transmigrated into a melodramatic power fantasy about rich family's biological and adopted sons, as the adopted son who shares his name.
He's a spoiled young master who's all looks and no brains, with a nasty streak. At the start, he can't stand the biological son his family supports, and makes himself the perfect obstacle for the poor boy to overcome.
Later, he accidentally finds out the biological son's true identity. Afraid of losing his parents' affection and his luxurious life, he does everything he can to torment the real son and stop the family from acknowledging him. That includes humiliating him, looking for chances to kill him, and even betraying his parents and himself for the sake of resources.
He excels at digging his own grave. In the end, all his misdeeds come to light, and the real son, armed with the script of a wish-fulfillment novel, throws him out. He winds up on the streets and is eventually poisoned by a steamed bun, for a hasty and miserable ending.
The one thing he can be grateful for is that Qiao Yan is bound to a system tool called the “Author System,” though later it turns out the System is completely useless and only makes trouble (...)
Qiao Yan refuses to believe he's in a wish-fulfillment novel. He's been handed the disposable character's script, and he refuses to play such an irrational, brainless character.
The System smiles. “Of course you can. We're the Author System, and we can change the plot~”
Qiao Yan believes it, but
When faced with an enraged real son, the System offers Qiao Yan a solution: “Kiss him. It'll shock him.”
Qiao Yan thinks he's misheard. “? Hello? What are you talking about? I'm straight! Can I speak to a human operator?!”
But the System keeps doing whatever it wants, triggering new plot developments and ideas like this anytime, anywhere, until Qiao Yan is on a one-way road to becoming a pervert.
The System: “Go on, steal his clothes while he's taking a shower at your house.”
Qiao Yan: “...Do we have to make it so childish and creepy?”
The System argues its case: “There are lots of ways to make him hate you and keep the plot going. As long as we avoid that poisoned bun, you won't just drop dead.”
Qiao Yan: ...I suspect you're making up a new plot with me, but I have no proof.
The System: “How could I possibly? ^-^”
Sometimes Qiao Yan thinks he's worse off than the original owner. At least the other guy genuinely enjoyed himself while throwing his weight around. What kind of immoral things is he doing?
Song Shiyu has been called a bastard born of his mother's affair ever since he was a child. He grew up unloved by both parents, and might not even have finished compulsory education if the Qiao family hadn't sponsored him. Later, he became classmates with the Qiao family's young master. Grateful to his benefactors, Song Shiyu was always very patient with Qiao Yan.
Even though that little brat was always hostile toward him, Song Shiyu did his best to put up with it.
But later, Qiao Yan's malice forced him into a situation where he was bullied. Song Shiyu began to think he wasn't a very patient person after all. Just as his tolerance was about to run out, Qiao Yan suddenly became a different person.
He still went out of his way to bother Song Shiyu, but the meaning behind it had completely changed.
“I brought too much breakfast and can't finish it. You have to eat all my leftovers, or you'll be sorry!” Qiao Yan throws down a lunchbox he hasn't touched, looking furious. He seems to think making Song Shiyu eat his leftovers is some huge insult.
Song Shiyu looks at the plastic bag with the two steamed buns Qiao Yan took from him, then at the lunchbox in his own hands, full of a nutritious, well-balanced mix of meat and vegetables, and falls silent.
.
Qiao Yan never holds back when he speaks, and never worries about hurting people's feelings, whether they're Song Shiyu's or anyone else's.
One day, he plants himself in front of Song Shiyu's desk and says coldly, “Song Shiyu, that guy with glasses who sits next to you looks like he has inappropriate feelings for you. Tell the teacher you want to change seats and sit next to me instead. Quit batting your eyes at each other and messing up your studies! If you don't get into college and waste my family's money on dating, what a waste!”
The bespectacled classmate in question, chatting with friends at the desk behind them: “...?” I like women, you blind homophobe! You creep!
Song Shiyu: “…” Who was it that kissed me for no reason the other day? Who stole my clothes while I was showering, then insisted on moving into the school dorm with me?
Who has inappropriate feelings for whom? And who's distracting whom from studying?
※ A clash between the real and adopted sons, but the tone suddenly turns goofy.
※ Probably a carefree, unconventional little rom-com :D
