We Owe Each Other

#A relationship-focused two-person drama with lots of emotional intensity#

#It's actually pretty sweet, so don't let the blurb fool you#

On the day Pu Luan was going to break up with Qu Zhaoning, Qu Zhaoning simply asked him calmly, "Have you made up your mind?"

"Yes."

"Pu Luan, I won't come back."

"...I know."

Qu Zhaoning nodded. The air fell silent. There seemed to be nothing left to say. He put out the cigarette in his hand, which had been burning untouched, then suddenly said, "Pu Luan, you say you love me, but I don't feel loved by you. Love isn't something you put on a pedestal. It's about owing each other things."

Pu Luan wanted to say something, but Qu Zhaoning didn't want to hear it.

"Forget it," he said. "It's pretty pointless."

Theme: Hardship will eventually pass.
