My Little Drunkard

[The full story is complete]

Blurb:

Gu Shuyuan had fair skin and breathtaking beauty, and was famous for her allure. In her previous life, she married Duan Xun and was his favorite wife, envied by all. But then she and her grandmother discovered Duan Xun's secret. He locked her in a room, and she lost her life.

Newly reborn, Gu Shuyuan only wanted to stay away from Duan Xun and protect her grandparents.

Later, she added a new goal: to offer some warmth now and then to Duan Heng, the lonely eldest prince, unloved by both his father and mother, and repay the kindness he had shown her as a child.

But can someone tell her why this cold, gloomy Duan Heng always looks at her like a wolf that's been starving for ages???

Later still, Gu Shuyuan: ??? I never planned to give myself away, did I???

On their wedding night,

Duan Heng, reeking of alcohol, strode into the inner chamber and pulled the half-asleep young woman from the bed into his arms.

Gu Shuyuan nuzzled into his embrace. "You smell so good. I like it."

Duan Heng: "What do you like?"

Gu Shuyuan: "The smell of alcohol."

Duan Heng: "..."

Duan Heng narrowed his eyes, leaned close to her ear, and asked hoarsely, "Do you like me or the wine?"

Gu Shuyuan: "I like Your Highness best."

Duan Heng coaxed her. "Then would you like to have a taste?"

Gu Shuyuan: "A taste of what? The wine?"

Duan Heng replied unhurriedly, "The thing you like best."

Only later did Gu Shuyuan learn that Duan Heng had loved her in both of her lifetimes: in one, his heart was shattered for a lifetime; in the other, he cherished and spoiled her for the rest of hers.
